Fashion designer Camaiani brings ‘Senza Confini’ to Italian lavender fields

On Friday, the lavender fields of Collelongo- located in the Italian province of L’Aquila- will host a fashion show by Vittorio Camaiani, a designer renowned for blending high fashion, craftsmanship, and artistic inspiration.

 
The runway will feature the Spring/Summer 2026 collection ‘Senza Confini,’ ‘Without Borders’ in English, built around the colours, shapes, and atmospheres of diverse world cultures. Camaiani, often described as the “Poet of Fashion,” trained in ateliers in Rome and San Benedetto del Tronto under Massimo Fioravanti.
 
In the early 1990s, he founded his eponymous label with his wife, Daniela Bernabei, gradually developing a unique vision of feminine elegance. His collections have frequently intertwined fashion and art, drawing references ranging from Magritte and Escher to ancient Egypt, Velázquez, and Rothko, as well as Marlene Dietrich and Roberto Capucci.

Notable figures who have chosen his atelier include Marina Ripa di Meana, Violante Placido, Martina Colombari, Clio Napolitano, and Lucrezia Lante della Rovere. With ‘Senza Confini,’ the designer also returns to a recurring theme in his creative work: travel. Different continents are evoked through lines, colours, and fabrics in a journey that aims to foster a dialogue between cultures through fashion. On August 8, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the fashion designer will also host a showroom at the Cappella Floridi in Collelongo, located in Piazza Ara dei Santi. The event is part of the program organised by the Collelongo 2026 Festival Committee.
